Night Shelter Blackpool - Volunteers required for varying days and times to
assist the staff in the operation of the shelter and facilitate community
activities.

CRI Counselling Service - Brighton

CRI Counselling Service Brighton has an opportunity for volunteers to train as Alcohol Counsellors. Qualified or currently in the second year of Diploma study, successful candidates will be offered a comprehensive training programme, run on Fridays and Saturdays which commences in January and concludes in February 2009. Upon completion of training, counsellors will commence a placement with CRI Counselling Service in Brighton with a minimum of 3 hours per week. Group supervision and ongoing continuous professional development are all part of this exciting opportunity.

Have a number of different volunteer roles in office and outreach settings engaging with rough sleepers, sex workers, drug users and street drinkers in Camden.

Committed volunteers needed to deliver outreach to street population. Full support, supervision and training given towards a recognised accreditation.

Camden Safer Streets Team is looking for an ASB volunteer to support the team in addressing anti social behaviour and community safety issues.

Candidates will have an interest in social care and anti social behaviour within street population.

We will provide full training and supervision to support you in this highly rewarding role.

Cumbria Harm Minimisation Service - Carlisle

Cumbria Harm Minimisation Service provides support to people actively engaged in the use of substances via open access needle exchange services both in-house and pharmacy based. We provide sterile equipment for using substances and a confidential environment for used works to be returned and disposed of safely. The service also provides advice and information on a wide range of issues such as safer injecting, blood borne viruses, overdose, treatment etc and signposting to a variety of local support services.

Essex - Volunteer Counsellors

CRI services in Essex have a need for volunteer counsellors who can commit to providing counselling for individuals with substance misuse problems on a weekly basis. Volunteers must be suitably qualified or training and must be affiliated with a relevant professional body. Greenwich - SMET (Substance Misuse Engagement)

SMET is an outreach team aimed at (re-)engaging hard to reach substance misusers in the treatment system. This is achieved by visiting clients at home or elsewhere in the community and assessing their needs to identify in which way we can support them in engaging with appropriate services. SMET do not provide treatment, but do motivational work, harm minimisation, onward referrals and support in accessing other services. SMET also runs satellite services 3 times a week and will be starting a needle exchange.
